Believe It Or Not, I'd Actually Like To See A Knack Sequel

Yeah, I know. It wasn't exactly the best PlayStation 4 launch title.

And admittedly, I wasn't one of its bigger fans, as I called it the "epitome of bare-bones" at the end of my review.

All that being said, my thoughts have returned to Knack several times recently. I don't really know why; perhaps it's just because my eyes wandered across the box in my collection. And I remembered actually having plenty of fun going through the game co-op with my girlfriend. She loved it and honestly, this is one adventure that's a lot better with a partner.

That couldn't obscure all its obvious flaws, of course, but I keep thinking a properly done sequel would be really cool. It's true that the developers didn't do anywhere near enough with that great concept, but this doesn't negate the fact that it is a great concept. Given the right motivation and ambition, I think a better-designed, more robust adventure could be excellent. Besides, we need more story-driven linear quests with likable characters that appeal to all ages.

Knack 2 could take some seriously big steps while keeping that really fantastic core and the result would be quite appealing. What do you think?

I agree for the same type of reasons. I bought this game for my girlfriend and I to play, and we like playing it together. I never play it by myself, but playing it with someone can be fun, and I'd be open to a sequel as well.

Unfortunately it seems however much potential it has, it's pretty much the same as Lair, an untouchable IP.

I thought Knack only was a good game if you played it in the hardest mode. Otherwise it was a senseless mindless button masher.

I actually really enjoyed my play throughs of the game, but I'm not blind and saw many places they could have expanded on.

I think thats the best word to describe it. What was there was solid, nothing wrong with it, but the whole time I was like thinking of all these places they could have gone with the game and wondering why the Devs didn't think or do this themselves?

Most likely time restrictions, I really do hope they make a sequel and take time with it. I liked the world and the game was fun and could be the PS4s crash bandicoot if they expanded and improved on all of the concepts in the game.

I honestly don't see how anyone could blindly mash buttons and get anywhere in God of War.

God of War was only a button masher on easy for the less experienced. Play in Titan mode and you couldn't last 2 seconds against any enemy, doing what you are suggesting.

You still couldn't mash buttons in Normal mode. Far too many enemies require specific sorts of attacks or weapons. There's just no way to beat the game by mashing buttons, I don't think.

All the sour critical response kept me away. Doubt I'll play it either because I don't want to give up gaming time for it. that and my family and I are gearing up for a Wii U come Christmas time. Where Nintendo has much more experience in this venue.

I'm up for a sequel though. PS could use more of these games.

Knack? Really? If you wanted a filler article for today, in my humble opinion, Naughty Dog's Josh Scherr accidental confirmation of the Last of Us 2 development would have been more proper for discussion.

By ignoring the technical flaws in this game, can it be fun to play and enjoyable?
Cause reading that Ben had fun with his girlfriend on Knack made me curious.

There isn't really any technical flaws. Its runs great, looks fantastic, and the gameplay is tight. It's a great game and a lot of fun.

I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good platformer. You won't get the same amount of depth as you would in Ratchet and Clank but the characters are also as delightful.

I think that's where most people had problems, is it wasn't real deep. The combat has some variations but it can get redundant, and at times although you might be progressing it feels stagnant.

Skipped it. I want The Order 1887 to happen. Fix the bungles and you got a 9 on your hands. And I want Final Fantasy X-3 because that story didn't finish.
