PlayStation VR Price Similar To A "New Gaming Platform"
Still no finalized date or price for Sony's PlayStation VR, but we do have a new hint in regards to the latter.
During a recent Bloomberg interview with PlayStation boss Andrew House, we find that Sony wants to price their virtual reality initiative "as a new gaming platform."
That's actually good news because it means consumers can expect a price tag of between $400 and $500 (or perhaps even less, if you consider Wii consoles). The PS3 might be an anomaly, as it launched at $600, but PS4 launched at $400 while Xbox One released with a $500 price tag. This is in stark contrast to something like Oculus, as the developers have said you'd have to spend around $1,500 for an "all-in setup." Of course, that setup includes a gaming PC and an Xbox One controller.
PlayStation VR, formerly called Project Morpheus, is expected to launch during the first half of 2016, and Sony wants to have at least 10 titles ready to go upon release.
