Star Wars: Battlefront Multiplayer Fueled By Dedicated Servers
Last week, multiplayer fans were talking about how the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront wouldn't use a server browser; rather, DICE is going to use a skill-based matchmaking system.
That's controversial but this bit of news probably won't be: Lead Designer Jamie Keen told PlayStation LifeStyle that Battlefront will utilize dedicated servers for the multiplayer action:
"We'll still have dedicated servers. Absolutely. It's one of the hallmarks of making sure we deliver unparalleled online servers for the game."
Several other huge multiplayer-oriented fall titles will also use dedicated servers, including Call of Duty: Black Ops III and Halo 5: Guardians. If you're interested in checking out Battlefront before its November 17 launch date, you should definitely check out the open beta, which will kick off early next month.
The game is one of the most anticipated titles of 2015; it recently won the illustrious Gamescom Game of Show award.
