Know Why Golden Abyss Isn't In The Uncharted Collection?
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection features the first three installments in the acclaimed franchise.
But many are wondering why it doesn't also boast the PlayStation Vita effort, Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Is it because it was developed by SCE Bend and not Naughty Dog themselves? No.
Speaking during the EGX convention in Europe, Naughty Dog community strategist Arne Meyer said the team definitely considered putting Golden Abyss into the compilation, but they didn't think it was necessary for the following reason (as cited by Power Up Gaming):
"We realized that those three games--the trilogy--actually provided a particular narrative arc that led into Uncharted 4. We wanted to keep that as a holistic collection for that reason, and Golden Abyss kind of lives a little bit outside of that."
That sounds logical. The collection in question launches on October 8 exclusively for PlayStation 4, and it was just revealed that you'll need over 44GB of free HDD space to install it. As a preview, check out more than eleven great gameplay minutes.
And don't forget that snagging Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection also gets you into the Uncharted 4: A Thief's End multiplayer beta, which kicks off in December.
