No Offline Option For Battlefront Beta
Be forewarned: You're going to need an Internet connection if you want to participate in the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront beta.
While the full game will let you play offline, Community Manager Mat Everett confirmed on Reddit that the beta will only offer online play:
"Offline gameplay will not be available within the beta. For the beta, an Internet connection is required to play Missions."
Well, in order to download the beta in the first place, you needed a connection, right? No big deal. The Battlefront beta will be open to everyone who owns a PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or PC (no pre-ordering or anything required), and will give us a chance to sample a Survival Mission and 40-player Walker Assault and Drop Zone modes. The beta test kicks off on October 8 and will continue through October 12.
Of course, while you can play the final version offline, there is no single-player narrative; the game is obviously designed with multiplayer in mind. For more, including file size and level cap info, click here.
Star Wars: Battlefront is scheduled to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 17.
