Battlefront Doesn't Have Its Own In-Game Chat System
For some, it's only a minor detail. But it's still well worth mentioning.
Electronic Arts has confirmed that Star Wars: Battlefront will not have its own in-game chat system on consoles or PC.
According to this Tweet, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game will use each machine's "built-in party system for in-game chat." DICE suggests PC players "choose your favorite third-party software to communicate with friends." Of course, there are numerous VoIP options for those planning to play the hotly anticipated title on PC.
Console players might feel a little more left out in the cold, though. Star Wars: Battlefront lands on November 17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC; just yesterday, the developers agreed that the Assault Walker mode in the beta was definitely unbalanced.
