EA Ups Battlefront Shipment Predictions To 13 Million
Did you enjoy the Star Wars: Battlefront beta?
Well, publisher Electronic Arts thought it went pretty well, which is why they're a little more optimistic about the game's performance now.
Company CFO Blake Jorgensen announced during a post-earnings call that, due in part to the positive reception of the aforementioned beta, EA expects to ship 13 million copies of Battlefront before the end of the current fiscal year (March 31, 2016).
That's well up from the previous forecast of 9-10 million shipped. Jorgensen added that EA expects an 80/20 split for shipments between the current fiscal quarter and the upcoming fourth quarter and overall, the company raised its full-year revenue expectations by $50 million. 9.5 million players checked out the Battlefront beta, which yielded some huge numbers. We also found that the PS4 version was in "healthier shape" when compared to its Xbox One counterpart.
Star Wars: Battlefront releases on November 17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
