Guerrilla Releases Extended Gameplay For Horizon: Zero Dawn

It took our breath away when it was first unveiled at E3.

Now, developer Guerrilla Games offers us an extended gameplay demo of the highly anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusive, Horizon: Zero Dawn.

This gives us an even better and deeper look at one of the most promising titles on the horizon (forgive the pun). Featuring what appears to be an intoxicating blend of exploration and unique combat, the game is set in a sprawling fantasy world filled with mechanical beasts and other dangers. The protagonist, a female warrior named Aloy (inspired by fictional characters Sarah Connor and Ellen Ripley), hunts with a futuristic bow of sorts, and it's just plain cool.

In addition to this new extended footage, Guerilla released another video that gives you a behind-the-scenes look at how the team created that awesome debut trailer. Both vids are pasted in below; check 'em out:

The game looks great. I just worry about the dialog and voice acting. Wasn't exactly great in Killzone.

Yeh the voice acting has always been a bit iffy in the kz franchise. I did enjoy the last kz my only problems with it was it didnt last long enough and I felt a little unsatisfied with the ending.

I can't even begin to fathom why people look at military shooters and want and expect engaging and deep dialog and writing.Have any of these types of people been around the military?

They really all talk like teenage testosterone filled rage machines, much like how the movies, books and games all show. It's like every other word is an F bomb. If your main task is to shoot the damned enemy in face, then do it. Why does the story have to be original in every single entry of Killzone?

I remember when reviewers and some gamers totally ragged on KZ2 for it's usage of expletives. GROW THE HELL UP. Its fine if you don't like cussing yourself, but for the vast majority of people it's a natural thing.

The voice acting on the other hand, I'm inclined to agree with you both...its suspect at times. And before anyone jumps down my throat for being a twitch gamer, just know that I value story over everything else. I just don't need a gripping story for EVERY SINGLE GENRE.

Shooters are designed to increase your adrenaline. I just need my mission and target. And maybe a tiny back story in the beginning of the game so I know why the evil bastard needs to die. After that, just give me my weapons and abilities and let me do what I do best...
