Avalanche: No Multiplayer For Mad Max
As we always say, some games don't need multiplayer. In fact, some of the best games in recent memory didn't boast a multiplayer component.
As an example for the future, Eidos Montreal's Thief will be single-player-only, as the developer has said they're focusing entirely on delivering a memorable campaign. Gotta respect that, especially 'cuz it's Thief. Now, another game maker is saying basically the same thing.
It's Avalanche Studios, who told GameSpot that their upcoming Mad Max game will not boast any multiplayer. Said creative director Frank Rooke:
"There's no multiplayer at the time. It's a very strong single-player experience and of course Max is a loner and we're really focusing on that aspect of Max."
We didn't see any gameplay during the E3 unveiling trailer, but we know it's a third-person action/adventure set in a post-apocalyptic world. There's even some car combat, as we understand it. In that way, the game's description sorta reminds us of RAGE, only with probably a lot more freedom. And for all you young'uns who aren't aware, the game is based on the old "Mad Max" movies with Mel Gibson.
The long-awaited game is in development for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and it'll be ready to go some time in 2014.
