Ubisoft: Consumers Warming Up To The New Assassin's Creed

Fans don't forget that easily.

Last year's Assassin's Creed Unity suffered through a problematic launch and gamers didn't forget, which is one reason why first-week sales for the new Assassin's Creed Syndicate were down.

During the publisher's latest earnings report, the company said the issues plaguing Unity likely had a negative impact on first-week sales for Syndicate but things are looking up. Second-week sales showed a marked improvement, probably due to the reports that the new AC adventure was technically sound and relatively reliable.

Furthermore, Ubisoft cites the "mostly positive" critical reception, which also may have influenced the uptick in second-week sales. As of right now, Syndicate sales are on par with that of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, which ended up selling over 10 million copies before December 31, 2014. It's also worth noting that total playtime for Syndicate is "massively up" when compared to Unity.

We say Assassin's Creed Syndicate is a fantastic game, with plenty of improvements and enhancements and some of the most likable characters in franchise history.

I gotta say, the more I get into Syndicate, the more I love it. At first I didn't care for it, but now I don't want it to end honestly. Great game honestly. I wish the games pacing was better, but great game overall.

I agree it is pretty great and it does want to make you keep playing. It's even tempted me to get the Season pass which I haven't gotten for any Assassins Creed game yet.

Yea I might get the season pass too after I see what else the DLC contains. Hope the dlc matches/exceeds the core game like the Witcher 3's did for it.

I also don't like Syndicate. The complete one sided personalities of the two protags makes me pretty sad to see we'll never get another Ezio or Altair. No spoilers but the two new protags seem to enjoy killing and see it more as a sport in whereareas Ezio and Altair every life mattered, even if you depised the person you kill.

Hence the reason Ezio didn't kill the man who murdered his entire family. These two new ones are like "screw templars dude. lets kill these stupid bad guys cause they are mean and rude and I don't even like them." And that ending fight, oh my was that bad. The game runs higher than 10fps though which is a good thing, and overall the detective side missions and stuff is pretty nice. Its just not assassins creed to me its like a whole new ip. I gotta learn to pull off those goggles that AC1-Brotherhood gave me because otherwise I won't ever enjoy another AC game again.

You do understand we are pass their "I'm innocent" stage right? They are professionals now. And their personalities are great because that's the conflict...an inner circle conflict.

Dude...Altair was almost entirely faceless.

Altair was faceless, yeah, but his personality was great. He was a complete dick, a guy you didn't like very much, which made him both somewhat unique as protagonists go and more believable as historical assassin's go, insofar as I imagine most people who kill shitloads of other people for their 9-5 probably aren't terribly nice folk.

I would have liked Ezio a lot more if it weren't for the ridiculous faux Italian accent and the creepy feeling that he'd probably bang my underage sister if given half a chance.

He had no personality. You just assumed that because he rarely even spoke during the majority of the story.

And anyway, it's absurd to call the characters in Syndicate "one-dimensional" when compared to previous characters like Altair and Ezio; if anything, these new characters are the first in the entire series that AREN'T one-dimensional.

No, I thought he was a dick because whenever he opened his mouth, he said things that dicks say. The whole point of the prologue was demonstrating what a dick he was, to the point that he got demoted until he could become less of a dick, which he never really did.

Ben is very right on this one. Altair was a faceless assassin who people love because he was the first one out the animus gates. Evie is a very lovable character reacting to everything in a convincing manner while Jacobs personality is full of sarcasm and grim.

We are not witnessing character growth like Ezio, Connor, or Arno. Instead, we are playing as fully matured assassins with a set out mission that needs to be completed in a certain time frame. I don't mind that as we have seen that formula beaten to death here.

I can't be right because Bio says I'm not right and he's never wrong.

Hence, what you're claiming is mathematically impossible.

Good god, man. I explained what I personally think of Altair and Ezio, making it pretty clear it was my own personal impression of the characters.

You then tell me no, that is not actually what I think, I think something else.

When I clarify that what I said actually was what I think, you start in again with the persecution complex? Seriously?

You made statements, I made statements. But yours are merely an opinion while mine were statements of fact. That's an amazing self-fulfilling piece of work there, isn't it?

The only one with any "persecution complex" is you. I'm wondering if you can even get through the day without some sort of digital validation on a site you hate, and constantly disagreeing with someone hate because it makes you feel better about yourself. It's just said. And boring.

In the end, it has always been better to do what I've always told everyone to do because reason isn't exactly your strong suit:

That's nice, Ryan.

Now, make sure to write a book in response and get as many people to see it as possible, so you can get that validation you so desperately need. But you won't get it from me as your predictability has translated to exhaustion on my end, so...just stop. If you can. And no, I won't look at this again, so feel free to write for days.

FM23 is right its probably a console problem because i had that happen to me the other day. I did find a fix online which i will try tonight.

"The process involves holding down the PlayStation 4's power button until you hear two beeps, waiting thirty seconds, and then unplugging the console from its power source for three minutes. Afterward, your PS4 should resume normal operation. If it doesn't, Sony advises visiting its Online Service Request page for a repair order."

maybe ill try doing this later on, i already returned the game but i had just completely restored my ps4 just recently -problems with not being able to download or buy games from the PSN and apparently was due to a bad firmware update- so i downloaded the full firmware and installed it fixing all the other problems. I really wanted to try new assassin's before Fallout came out because i will be all over that

That's what happened in my case... held off due to errors. Of course, I also held off on Black Flag and Unity, too. Super glad I did!

But I went out and got Syndicate this week. Just haven't had an opportunity to play yet, is all.
