Rumor: Dark Souls III Launch Date, Special Editions Revealed

It's undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games of 2016 and though this information isn't official, it's bound to whet the appetite.

It seems we have a leaked launch date and two special editions courtesy of Geekay Games; the site has published listings for the Dark Souls III Collector's Edition and the even fancier Prestige Edition.

It says both will be available on April 12, 2016 and again, it's not official but it does fall in line with the estimated April 2016 window. The Collector's Edition features a red knight figurine, hardcover collectible art book, cloth map, soundtrack, special collector's box and case, and iron-on patches. The Prestige Edition has the art book, map, soundtrack, patches and special case, but instead of the red knight figurine, you get a much larger Lord of Cinder figurine.

Chances are, these packages are indeed real and the date is probably accurate, too. But this is a Middle Eastern retailer, so it's hard to say if both bundles will be available - with these exact items - in other regions. And if you haven't yet seen it, feel free to check out our recent Dark Souls III preview.

git gud nub ;)

I hate saying it because it makes me sounds like an elitist, but I don't find these games really that hard. It just has a steep learning curve, but really once you play them how they are supposed to be played they are really just normal difficulty games.

Bloodborne was quite easy in comparison for DS1 and Demons souls, not just because i knew what to expect but it was designed to be easier.

Bloodborne was on sale sometime this week for like $24.99.

Calling it "another stupid hard ripoff game" is the incorrect approach. The franchise does well because it fulfills the needs of a niche that was missing from the industry for awhile. The Soul series is just more than it being "hard" or "punishing you" for taking actions that most gamers would take. It's about getting back up no matter how times you fall. It's about the art, the environment and the atmosphere it brings that makes you feel alone but watched at all times.

That's what the souls franchise is and by the time you know it "From Software" might just hire me as their Public Speaker. :)

Anymore Dark Souls attacks and I might just have to invade your world, World. =P

You are welcome into my twisted wonderland anytime brother. I'm just getting peeved at al niche markets since they keep making 1 or 2 game breakers, especially in the jrpg realm. NIS included.

Bloodborne I really loved. Played and beat it 5 times, and will do some more with the expansion.

I think it is easier to get into than Darksouls, there is less to worry about its more streamlined.

This is good and bad. I didn't mind it but I would have liked more build variety, but honestly beating the game without doing any of the optional areas was just normal difficulty. With the occasional difficulty spike on a couple of boss fights.

Co op as usual makes the game and its bosses a joke though.

@Xenris -- I am glad you liked it because for me it was too action oriented. It didn't feel much like an RPG to me. Heck, I have not beat the game yet although I'll have to blame myself for being sucked into The Witcher 3's world.

I'll go back to finishing Bloodborne after I beat The Order 1886.
