PS4 Versions Of Beyond And Heavy Rain Detailed, Dated

If you missed these narrative-driven gems on PlayStation 3, you'll soon get another chance to play them on PlayStation 4.

And of course, you'll have the opportunity to play the enhanced versions. As announced over at the PlayStation Blog, two Quantic Dream productions have been detailed and dated.

The first is Beyond: Two Souls, which will launch next week on November 24 as a digital-only product on the PlayStation Store. For only $30, you get "enhanced 1080p" visuals that boast motion blur, bloom, and depth of field effects, along with improved lighting and shadows. The port also uses the DualShock 4's speaker to "improve immersion when playing as the Entity." Here are a few other features to look forward to:

-- Decisions are highlighted at the end of each scene and compared with those made by other players.

-- Once you have completed Beyond: Two Souls, you will be able to replay the game in chronological order--a much requested feature in the PlayStation 3 version.

-- Increased difficulty in certain fight scene, combined with improved controls for action sequences.

-- Includes the "Enhanced Experiments" DLC.

Then comes the PS4 version of Heavy Rain, which will release on March 1, 2016, also as a digital-only title. This one will be playable at Sony's PlayStation Experience in San Francisco in December, and don't forget it qualifies as one of the PS3's very best games.

The good news is that if you purchase Beyond, you'll get Heavy Rain at a discount when it comes out (we don't have a price point for the latter just yet). Looking toward the future, Quantic Dream's new PlayStation 4 exclusive, Detroit, was just unveiled at the end of October.

We can also now confirm that The Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls Collection, announced in June this year, will be available to buy at retail from 2nd March 2016 (or 4th March in the UK).

Meh. Zero desire to revisit a game I've beat 12 times already.

HMMMM, just my own thought here....

I guess that these remakes are all well & good at little expense to the developers & especially the publishers, but at the same time I've also got to think that they're taking mucho valuable time & effort away from bringing forward their next big games too.

And to me, that's a humongous trade-off in wasted time, especially for all the old-time geezer-gamers who are already well into our 60's & above(like myself at 62).

Yes because this dud of a game definitely needed a PS4 version.
