Turkey Day Gaming Blessings: What Are You Thankful For?
We're coming to the end of another great year in gaming, so what are you most thankful for in 2015?
I doubt microtransactions and delays are going to be on anyone's list, although I will say I actually look forward to the occasional delay. Gives me more time, you know?
Personally, I'm thankful for a very streamlined and reliable console; my PlayStation 4 runs like a charm and it has a fantastic interface in my estimation. It has never been easier to sit down and play a game, jump into Netflix, or interact with others. And while I do have very good luck with my systems in general, it seems clear enough that Sony's console has been extremely reliable thus far this generation.
Game-wise, I'm definitely thankful for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which revived my flagging interest in open-world games and RPGs in general. It has been a long time since a game hooked me in such a riveting fashion, and that's saying something after a game-ending bug totally destroyed my first 8 hours during my review run. I'm also thankful for all the fixes and updates that have come down the pike, and that fantastic Hearts of Stone expansion.
I'm also thankful for Assassin's Creed Syndicate, which not only took very big steps forward in several key areas (not the least of which is the two protagonist setup and the game-changing rope launcher), but also proved that Ubisoft could produce a very stable and well-running game if they set their mind to it. Lastly, I will add Everybody's Gone to the Rapture because it rekindled my faith in interactive storytelling.
How about you?
