Guerrilla Walks You Through 21 Minutes Of Killzone: Shadow Fall

For many, it's the most anticipated title of the next generation. Killzone is back!

It was shown off during Sony's E3 press conference, but you probably didn't see the full 21-minute presentation put on by developer Guerrilla Games.

The gameplay in question isn't totally unfamiliar; we saw at least part of it when the game was officially unveiled back in February. However, after going through that segment, the designers dig into the nuts and bolts of the new technology behind this production. They even talk about a fresh piece of tech that allows them to add a thin film of dust to the world. This is the sort of meticulous attention to detail the power of the next-gen systems can provide. And Killzone has always excelled in the realm of graphics, anyway.

If you're interested in the development process of games, you gotta check this out. All you tech buffs will appreciate it!

Thanks, Zak!

That's incredible. THere's plenty of room for future optimizations though so don't no one think this is close to 'maxing' out the PS4. The fact that they're using full polygonal buildings for the city scape etc says they could, in enough time, optimize their engine for more aggressive LOD processing, thus enabling them to increase the more immediate and tangible details of closer objects to the player.

looking good so far.
i just hope this has a bit more indepth detailed story than the rest.
i remember after KZ2 released $ony released a trailer of the higs in the mines of helghan and the air was so toxic it was slowly killing them, they were calling to vetka officials to send help and design some sort of way to make the planet hospitable.
by far the most amount of story telling the series has ever provided, and that was in a 5 minute trailer not 3 10+ hour games!
kinda late for a origin story now though, hopefully they will explain the events of KZ3 and now why the two enemies are now living on the same planet.

and gameplay wise hopefully they bring back the boss battles and epic set pieces that made KZ2 so great.
its funny, R2, KZ2, U2, 3 of the biggest franchises on the ps3, and also 3 of the best titles in their series.
and also the second games in the series.
R3, KZ3, U3, all were not as good as their predecessors for one thing.
big epic boss battles and set pieces were what defined the franchises, and the third iterations removed those.
why?
the WHOLE point of uncharted is to be a big blockbuster hollywood summer film, so why get rid of that?
take the venom out of a snake, and whats left?
