Konami Reveals Free-To-Play PES 2016 Versions For PS4, PS3
Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 launched for all major platforms on September 15. As you might expect, it was a fully priced, complete experience.
But Konami wants to produce a more accessible introductory version, and it'll be free.
It was first spotted on an Australian classification board and was later officially confirmed by Konami: A free-to-play version of PES 2016 will release for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on December 8. The publisher made no mention of Xbox platforms.
This F2P version is dubbed an "entry-level version" of the full game; it'll feature Exhibition Mode with 7 teams, including Bayer Munich, Juventus, AS Roma, France and Brazil. Those interested in giving it a whirl can also sample a Training Mode, and enjoy both offline and online play. Furthermore, this free-to-play offering will receive "all future gameplay and content updates throughout the entire PES 2016 season." So, you can definitely get involved at the lowest possible entry cost...but of course, you'll have to pay to keep playing.
Soccer fans should be pleased with the option, at any rate.
