Rumor: New TMNT Effort In The Works At Platinum Games

Looks like we're in for a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game and this time, publisher Activision has found just the right developer.

Though it hasn't yet been officially announced, the Australian Classification Board has listed a title called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan and penciled in as developer is Platinum Games. That's right, the same team that gave us Bayonetta, Vanquish and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

Mutants in Manhattan has been rated M for "moderate impact violence and mild impact language" but again, we don't know anything concrete. The last time we saw a TMNT game was Out of the Shadows, which launched for Xbox 360 and PC in 2013 and came to PS3 in 2014. The game didn't fare well in terms of review scores but we know Platinum can deliver a gem, so cross your fingers!

Wow with a real dev on board I'll get it for sure. Been down with TMNT since the first cartoon. Out of the shadows wasn't horrible but I didn't get far because it was basically a 60% finished game.

Great, so they can make another sub-par game for a beloved franchise.

Platinum has only made one sub par game and it's an online one. So if this is single player we are good.

The Legend of Korra was aweful and I was sucker enough to pre-order it on the Platinum pedigree. Transformers would have been a great $20 game, but at $50 it was severely lacking.

In both of those games they nailed the look, but missed on the environments, gameplay, and overall content. Sad.

Their A-team does great work, these were obviously done by their B-team and I'm guessing they're the ones moving on to TMNT...
