Programmer: FFXV Entirely Playable From Start To Finish

Good news, JRPG fans.

Although we don't yet have a concrete release date for Final Fantasy XV, we do know the anticipated game is now fully playable from start to finish.

That's what programmer Satoshi Kitade said in the official FFXV forums (as translated by Gematsu). Kitade says the game has passed through pre-beta, which means the team now turns its attention to fine-tuning and polishing:

"We're at the point where we can play the game in its entirety from start to finish. From this, everyone on the development team can get an overall view on the game."

Kitade added that the first half of the game is actually "finished with the quality of a final product," which is more good news. Might this mean we get FFXV sooner rather than later in 2016...? Previously, Square Enix said we'd get the finalized launch date in March. We've seen 42 minutes of gameplay footage and don't forget the most important tidbit for American and European gamers: Final Fantasy XV will enjoy a global simultaneous launch.

Am I the only one that doesn't get excited over Final Fantasy news? Don't get me wrong, I wish the franchise the best but an excellent entry in the series will have to be released in order for me to get excited about anything FF again.

For now I'll get more and more excited about Dark Souls 3 and Persona 5 as those games get closer.

No, we are all the same now. The reason it is important to keep in the news is because a slow motion train wreck that happens over the course of a decade is something you can't look away from.

Ever since 2006, ATLUS has just been ahead of Square Enix in almost every way. FFXII which released in 2006 was a great entry but it failed to be as memorable as PERSONA 3 in my heart.

Then PERSONA 4 and P4: Golden came out the VITA and it was settled for me - Atlus is really the only Japanese developer since last generation which has been getting it right. They KNOW how to get the fans and they stick to doing what THEY do best.

This is why I am UNBELIEVABLY excited for PERSONA 5. And also...Catherine had to be one of the greatest games of the last generation - it can't be compared w/ standard RPGs and all - but god was it a work of art.

The demo convinced me. So unless they discovered a way to completely butcher what you experience in the demo, I think this game is on track to impress and (hopefully) rekindle the fire that was the Final Fantasy series. However... if anyone is going to butcher their own game, it would be S-E.

This is like applauding the overweight guy crossing the finish line of a marathon at 12 hours in...

No one was sure if he'd finish the race, and yeah, it took a long time, but at least he can say he finished it....
