Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom Revealed, Is A PS4 Exclusive

As far as many JRPG fans are concerned, Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is one of the best games ever made.

Which is why they'll be overjoyed to hear about the sequel...well, provided they own - or plan to own - a PlayStation 4.

During this weekend's PlayStation Experience, Sony announced Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom, which is coming exclusively to PlayStation 4. The game focuses on Evan, a boy king who must travel through a kingdom engulfed in darkness and prove he's worthy of being a leader. Unsurprisingly, Evan meets a number of characters on his travels, including Roland, "a visitor from another world." The debut trailer is below and yeah, it's gorgeous.

The last title was developed by Level-5 with help from Studio Ghibli, and is widely recognized as one of the most visually accomplished games of the past generation. Expect nothing less from the sequel.

I really wanted ps4 Ni No Kuni, and wow was it revealed a lot sooner than I thought. Now I know the rpg to play after the other gorgeous rpg game Dragon quest Xl! If this game releases in 2016, I won't be able to handle it tbh. 2016 seems really OP for me.

The crowd seemed to be most impressed with this showing today. Solid rejoicing and applause followed the trailer.

I am an old fuddydutty man's man when it comes to games. When I first seen the original Ni No Kuni I thought to myself, "I would never play that kiddie freaking game." But when I read it was a good old fashioned rpg that you could raise pets and use them to fight, I said what the hell. I mean the graphics looked amazing and it had an overworld map!

That game turned out to be one of the greatest little rpgs I ever played. Music was a 10. Story was a 10. Graphics and fighting was a 10. Voice acting was a 10 (Who doesn't love the english accent?). The only thing I think they could have fleshed out a little more was the pet leveling advancement. But I loved that as well.

Apparently they have taken all this time to make part 2. I cannot wait for this game. It looks like it is gonna be fantastic.

We clearly disagree on what makes a man a man, but we definitely agree on Ni No Kuni. I picked it up because it came out when I felt a bit of a drought. Loved it a ton.

Never completed the first title. I loved almost everything about it but the actual battle system didn't quite grab me even after putting many hours of game time. Despite this I'll give the sequel a fair chance. It just looks too good to give it a miss!

One of the greatest games ever made? Nowhere near the greatest games or Level 5's best. I never finished it,but it was just solid. The kiddie style has run its course next to games like Skyrim and the Witcher.

It's easily one of Level 5's better games.

I'm in, but I paid too much for the last one so I'll wait a bit.

Level 5 does need to make Rogue Galaxy 2 next though.

This is great news :)

I'm always on the lookout for games I can play, and enjoy, with my kids in the room. Most of today's big games are just not appropriate for 5 - 8 year olds.

Ni No Kuni was a lifesaver. It met all my criteria for a great game, it was 100% kid friendly, and it was full of that classic Studio Ghibli charm that I've come to love over the years. My kids were into it as much as I was.

I waited a while to buy the first one, but I'll buy a sequel at launch.
