A PS4 Bundle And A 58-Inch Smart HDTV For Only $800

Remember this slick PlayStation 4 bundle? Want this and an awesome new TV?

This could be one of the better holiday deals you'll see and it's great if you're looking to upgrade your home entertainment center.

Best Buy has a pretty sick sale: They're offering a 58-inch Samsung Smart HDTV and a PS4 bundle for only $799. You can get one of two PS4 packages; one features Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection (which boasts the first three games in the award-winning series) or the package that delivers the multiplayer-centric Star Wars: Battlefront. If you're interested, click here to get started; just make sure you've got enough room for that 58-inch TV.

Compared to regular retail pricing, this deal saves you about $400, so that's nothing to sneeze at. And the best part is that you can think about it for a bit; the deal runs through Saturday, December 19.

To the untrained eye this seems like an awesome deal, but I know what Samsung means by "Smart" TV. so I think I'll pass.

I think the universal definition of a "Smart TV" is one that comes with built-in software, like Youtube, media player, music and various web channels.
That term isn't a Samsung-only term.

@Lone... is your experience much different?

@BikerSaint Survelliance. Now i know people will say "but the government can do it with nearly anything if they want to" argument but Samsung "smart" tv's is the easiest and most used by the government when it comes to using tv's to spy on the public.
Samsung also willfully allows it and is being paid a large sum to do it. The reason is because Samsung is one of the top and most popular brands for "smart" tv's, just like IPhones are for cell phones. Anything dubbed "smart" is meant not smart for you,but smart for them.

All of them do it. Especially the cheap ones like Vizio. They have an option to turn it off, but I doubt it actually cuts it off. Samsung does openly tell you about the feature on their sets.

That's a rather hole riddled conspiracy theory considering that it can't connect to anything without a... Connection. Should it not have WiFi networks or local networks, then what? If you tell me that it'll hack its way into an unsecured network, use satellite technology to reciprocate your information, or communicate through another device remotely accessible to it, then I'm pretty sure you're way too worried about the TV in front of you.

thing about that though, literally anything connected to the internet can be monitored. Hell, im sure they could check up on my thermostat if they wanted seeing as it needs a wi-fi connection
