Tabata Offers New Details On FFXV Magic, Female Characters
Square Enix hasn't been shy about sharing details regarding the upcoming Final Fantasy XV.
They still don't want to give away the store, though.
In a new interview with The Examiner, game director Hajime Tabata addressed a few topics, including the magic systems in the game and the important role of certain female characters. When asked about the kinds of magic that would be on display, Tabata replied:
"The first is a very generic magic system that is used by people around the world. The second one is a very specific discipline of magic, which is only allowed to be used by people within the Royal family itself."
He didn't go into specifics (again, not giving away the store), but it's still an intriguing setup. Concerning the role of female characters, Tabata said there will be a "lot" of them, despite the fact that the core party is entirely comprised of men:
"There are quite a lot of female characters the guys will meet along the road they take and they really enhance the story, and perform a lot of different roles in the story, not just as love interests but other ways as the story progresses."
One example is Cidney, essentially a female version of the iconic series character. Maybe there will be a love interest or two as well...? Wouldn't be FF without a little romance, right? And if you're looking for more info, stay tuned early next year.
Final Fantasy XV is scheduled to launch some time in 2016; rumor has it that it might release around the same time as Persona 5.
