Sony Working To Fix New PSN Account Validation Issue
Yeah, this can happen.
The holidays can be a little iffy for the likes of Sony and Microsoft. New hardware and software owners dive into their gifts, most people have a few days off, and as a result, problems ensue.
Gamers have been reporting some issues with the PlayStation Network for the past 24 hours or so. One of the biggest problems involves account creation; Sony seems to have difficulty validating these new accounts and it isn't fixed just yet. The last update on the Ask PlayStation Twitter account reads:
We're still looking into the issue with new PSN account validation and password reset emails being delayed. Thanks again for your patience.— Ask PlayStation (@AskPlayStation) December 26, 2015
That's annoying because it basically means that if you don't have an existing PSN account, you can't play games online, check out the PlayStation Store, etc. Here's hoping Sony fixes this ASAP because really, what's the point of playing games like Call of Duty: Black Ops III and Star Wars: Battlefront without access to online multiplayer? And don't forget about those ongoing holiday sales on the Store.
And yeah, there are currently issues with Xbox platforms as well.
