Fallout Fans Seeking New Entry Will Have To Wait A While
You really want a new Fallout, don't you? Well, you had best settle in for a long wait.
During a recent Polygon interview with Bethesda marketing vice president Pete Hines, we learn that it'd be "unrealistic" to expect news of a fresh Fallout installment any time soon. Too bad.
It's obviously a ways off, but Hines says Bethesda refuses to apply the popular "annualization" philosophy to any of their franchises, which we appreciate. But at the same time, the fans shouldn't have to wait too long:
"We are not into annual franchises--just trying to spin out a version of our game year, after year, after year--like, we have never done that, I don't see that it is something that we are doing anytime soon. But that doesn't mean that we are going to take our time and wait six or seven years in between a game that a studio puts out. But these are big games that take a long time and folks need to understand that we have a very certain way of going about things."
The Fallout games are pretty massive, as are The Elder Scrolls titles. It takes some time to put one together, you know? There had been recent rumors about Fallout 4 being set in a post-apocalyptic Boston but for now, they will have to remain rumors.
