Dragon's Dogma 2? The Possibility For A Sequel Exists

Dragon's Dogma was a surprise to many, and definitely one of 2012's best action/RPGs.

The well-received game is finally making its way to PC this year, and during a new PC Gamer interview, producer Minae Matsukawa confirmed that while there are no plans for a sequel, it's not out of the realm of possibility:

"The Dragon's Dogma development team members often talk about the possibility of a sequel. We'd love to hear the opinions and feedback from players of the upcoming PC port of Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, as that will increase the chances that we can look into the possibility of continuing the series."

The PC port of the upgraded version - Dark Arisen - is scheduled to launch on January 15; it released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 back in 2013. The good news is that Matsukawa says the original team is mostly intact, as they also created Dragon's Dogma Online, the free-to-play title that launched last year for PS4, PS3 and PC in Japan. So, if a true sequel was to happen, most of the same developers would be in on the project.

Sounds good to me; a new Dragon's Dogma for PS4 would be awesome!

I liked DD, but I started to really despise the combat's gameplay later on, when they gave some of the hardest enemies 12 to 15 of those purple health points, & where it took me 10 to 20 minutes to whittle down each of those same health points.

The worst one so far(where I've been stuck on forever) is that dragon inside the ruined cathedral that had about 15 health points & took me & my 3 cohorts well over an hour to whittle him down to zero points, but instead of him dying, he #^$%^%$&% morphed into a 1000 times harder demon beast with his own 15 health points or more too.

And if you lost to that f'ing demon, as I did each & every time, the game would start you right back to the very beginning with that former 15 health-pointed dragon once again.

And after trying 7 times already in which the demon beast constantly annihilated me each time (although I tried to keep out of his eyesight), I guess I'll never ever get to finish the game, so WTF is with all that noise?

I assume you mean the Dark Bishop, which honestly wasn't that hard compared to most of what you have to go through down there. Maybe you need to level a bit more.

Draguss,

Well, it's been a while since I've played, but I think that maybe it was the Dark Bishop.

Can't remember what Level I was at but I thought I had leveled enough to defeat them much easier than I was having so much trouble doing.

FYI: I had no problems killing anything else I encountered, either inside those passages or outside. And I believe that that/Dragon/demon thingie was probably about the last thing left for me to encounter in those "deep down" passageways??????

But maybe you're right, & hopefully I can back on out & get a much higher level before trying him/them once again.

EDIT: I forgot that my copy was a PS+ freebie after just trying to what my level was at, I now see that the game is no longer there, so no chance to see my level(if I remember right, somewhere in the high 30's, maybe).

But I should be back with my PS+ again soon, so I'll re-download it again(since I see my game data & my save data's still alive), LOL

Odd, I remember having a lot more trouble getting down there than actually dealing with the boss. Pretty sure I was in my 50s at the time, hard to say. Since the bloody game doesn't let you make new characters without overwriting your old one I've played the same one so long I maxed out ages ago. Most areas between him and the final boss are fairly easy the first time around, second time through is a nightmare.

Lol I actually enjoy long fights I fought Chaos in FFXII about 25 levels under the suggested and it took me about 3.5hrs to kill him got down to only one party member so many times! XD
Though if it's just long and really boring due to a crap ton of health that sucks.
Really hope Dragon's Dogma comes to PS4 last gen consoles held it back so much.

I loved the game. I loved the combat. I played it through it's entirety and the DLC, and then the online part.

The online game looks pretty cool.

This game had so much promise and got so dreadfully boring and bland that it deserves another try.
