As Of Now, "The Floodgates Are Open" For PS4 Pre-Orders

Is Sony concerned about meeting demand for the PlayStation 4? Uh...no, apparently they're not.

According to a leaked internal memo obtained by GameTrailers, "the floodgates are open for PS4 system reserves." Awesome news!

Here's part of what the document said:

"Starting now, through this weekend and until further notice, Sony has allowed us to take unlimited preorders beyond your current allotments. In other words, the floodgates are open for PS4 system reserves, we will let you know when to stop preordering based on limited quantities."

Sony has already boosted internal sales projections for the PS4, although they may moderate those expectations after Microsoft made their favorable Xbox One-related announcements. However, it seems clear that demand will be high for Sony's console, and they're letting everyone reserve their console. Obviously, supply will run out eventually so you don't want to wait too long but still, this is good news.

Nope, not true.
A call to a store will prove it.

You should be able to go to the store and pre-order the system itself then pick the games you want. If you want to get it online from GS though I think you're right, it's only bundles.

I'm just waiting for Sony to tell me what day I can go and pick up my PS4 and games from GameStop.

I hope it is at the very latest early November, but if Sony wanted to, they could stun me with an October release date.

All I care is that they beat Microsoft to market this time around, even if it only by a week.

No what I think Sony was doing was genius... I'll explain walk with me for a second... Xbone announcement comes out bombs just bombs it hard Sony was the good guy everyone flocks to their system. That was proven btw well in terms of pre orders

So what do you do when this happens you cut quantity amount even if you have the stock to meet demands why? You ask well because it's called supply and demand. If everybody can get one well then everyone can get one right but if there is a shortage and you can't find them anywhere well I bet that just makes you want one more I bet that makes for great headlines I bet that makes Sony look like the top dog... Here is Sonys consoles flying off the shelf they can't supply the demand but the Xbone nobody wants is well it's still there now who looks to be doing the best... I see it as a great strategy or Sony would have been shooting themselves in the foot again... But hey soon as Microsoft makes those changes well screw that idea open the flood gates we need sells dammit! Lol

The Metro Markt store sign indicated November 13th, in Europe.

"Obviously, supply will run out eventually"

If supply is good, it doesn't have to be eventually.
