Street Fighter V Official Guide Revealed

Hey, remember strategy guides?

They were these print game walkthroughs, see, before the Internet basically replaced them.

They included all the secrets and contained tips and tricks and maps and all sorts of good stuff. I've still got lots (mostly for classic JRPGs 'cuz completionists needed guides).

Well, it may be strange to get a guide for a fighting game (even back in the good ol' days) but collectors are still gonna love this: Capcom has revealed the official guide for the upcoming Street Fighter V. The guide contains everything you could possibly need to know, including all the combos for every character, as well as "startup, active frames, recovery, damage, stun, and more." Additionally, players will get "comprehensive character strategy."

It even includes a mobile-friendly "eGuide" that will be continually updated as the game changes and more characters are added. As a special bonus for hardcore fans, Capcom is including a 16-page art gallery and a frame-ready print of Ryu and Ken. Nice, huh?

The guide will be available the same day as the game: February 16. That's when SFV launches for PlayStation 4 and PC. Just bear in mind that the guide goes for $40 so you're in over $100 with the price of the game. But collectors won't mind in the slightest.

After one last beta test in December, here's hoping the game is finally ready to go.

Frame data should come standard with any fighting game these days.

Mortal Kombat X does an awesome job laying it all out for you right within the in-game menus.

I don't see the point... why buy a guide if it is going to be obsolete? Yes they have the digital option but I can just go on GAMEFQS if I really wanted such guidence. It reminds me of the Final Fantasy IX guide where it witheld information on the deepest sidequests giving you a code to use their website... ugh.

Hell, why waste time having to go to any site when you can have all that inforight at your own fingertips?????

FYI, although I never used them, I still have all of my Sega Genisis & Saturn guides to accompany the games in those colections.
