Analyst: Battlefield 4 Will Rock The Sales Charts Despite Ghosts

Call of Duty: Ghosts will undoubtedly be the winner in the FPS category this year, as it is every year.

In terms of sales, nothing can touch it. That being said, EA's popular Battlefield franchise is gaining steam, and one analyst believes it could sell as many as 14 million copies when it launches later this year.

Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia said that despite the heavy competition from Ghosts, DICE's new Battlefield entry will still sell like hotcakes. In an investor's note, Bhatia said that BF4 and CoD can "successfully coexist" despite hitting store shelves within a week of each other. He also predicted far more PC sales for BF4; 1/3 as opposed to only 10% of the overall sales for Ghosts.

EA has already stated their confidence in the title, saying they know they've got the "best game." That might indeed be the case and if it is, we see no problem with that 14 million prediction.

I am definitely excited for BF4 and it has my $60. But Ghosts...?
Black Ops 2 was the first Call of Duty game that I did not buy on Day 1, have not bought since Day 1, nor have any intent to buy. And shockingly, I survived.
The same goes for Ghosts. It looks like the same game I've played for 5 years in a row with a shiny new paint job, and I'm tired of it. I am officially done with the Call of Duty franchise.
I am hoping that some others feel the same as I do and it reflects in the sales. Someone needs to take this high horse down and spank some kind of change into their polished, 60-fps, untouchable hind quarters.

64 players on console when the next-gen platforms arrive? That's what's going to entice so many to buy Battlefield over CoD. Not to mention the superior graphics, engine, combat.. it's just better.

I'm sure both games will sell extremely well... Personally I'm more hyped for the two Killzone games.

I guess they should make a Battlefield like 2142, never played it but heard it was a great game.

I think I'll disagree with Arvind Bhatia. While I have read that sales for the PC versions of BF:BC2 and BF3 did increase, the amount of PC sales for BF3 doesn't quite make up 20% of all BF3 sales (according to vgchartz).

Also, considering that almost 16 million copies of BF3 have been sold on PS3, 360 and PC, I also don't think that they'll sale less than 14 million for BF4.

Well, I am actually looking forward to Battlefield 4 a lot more than Ghosts.

The Battlefield franchise is actually making an effort to change things, the new levelation thing is awesome. being able to change an entire maps landscape is an awesome concept.

The graphics just keep improving drastically too.

CoD Ghosts still looks current gen.

GTAV will be one of the biggest sellers of the year, COD will be releasing many map packs after release, and FFXV and KH3 will not be released this year.
