"Valkyria: Azure Revolution" Demo Gameplay is now Available Online

The first footage of the gameplay of Valkyria: Azure Revolution airs online.  Sega released its first teaser trailer last November.  You could view the gameplay video below.

The footage previews both ranged and melee combat as well as a fight with a massive scorpion-tank.

Valkyria: Azure Revolution is in development at Media Vision, the team behind Valkyria Chronicles 3 for PSP.  Based on the video, it seems the studio has decided to move the series away from its turn-based roots and create an action-RPG instead.

Sega has also released two official playthrough videos which you can view below.

Valkyria: Azure Revolution is due out for PlayStation 4 this winter in Japan.

They turned it into an action game? ... WTF? Is Sega taking hints from Square Enix now? Bad source of inspiration Sega.

"Oh oh! I know! Lets take that thing that made our game unique and special and replace it with the same thing EVERY OTHER GAME does... Yeah, that's a good idea. Lets do that".

My hype level just went from 11 to 1 after watching that gameplay. So crushingly disappointed.

Oh well, at least we get the original remastered for PS4. I guess that'll have to do.

Gumbi, they stated multiple times that this is a Spin off. We will get more traditional Valkyria games.

I really hope so. It's one of my favourite game mechanics of all time. I know it's slow but... Maybe I'm getting old :/

This is one move to action I can stand personally. I couldn't get through VC cuz of the slow strategy. That's just me tho.

I'm sure it's not just you World. This gameplay will probably appeal to a wider audience, but in the process they're going to lose interest from many fans of the original. Like me.

It's lost it's signature. Azure Revolution looks like another generic anime action RPG with giant swords and lots of group melee combat.

I hope the remastered version of the original outsells this. That's just me tho ;)

If they are smart they will keep the strategy games and just branch out to those of us who like our generic anime swords. Final Fantasy would have been wise to just add an action spinoff series instead of destroying the core system.

We will have to see how it pans out for Valkyria.

An Anime shooter is actually a great idea. Not for Valkyria strategy fans but in general.

I have to agree. Lots of great gunslinger anime's out there so we know the genre works.

OMG , look boring as hell .Don t even think it will appeal to fan of games like Dynasty warrior since compared to those game it seem slow and the enemies seem even more stupid then the already stupid AI in DW .
