PlayStation 4 Multiplayer Is Free this Coming Weekend

The best things in life are free, right?  Absolutely!

If you happen to own a PlayStation 4 and don’t have a subscription to PlayStation Plus, which is required if you want to play games online, then it’s certainly going to be a very good weekend for you.

According from PlayStation Blog's announcement, those without a PlayStation Plus subscription will be able to hop online and play with their friends starting Friday, February 19, at 12:01am PT for free.  The offer runs until Sunday, February 21, at 11:59pm PT.  This latest free multiplayer weekend arrives in time for the launch of Street Fighter 5, the latest iteration in the legendary fighting franchise which happens to be a console exclusive to PlayStation 4.  In addition to highlighting the release of Street Fighter 5, Sony is also encouraging players to check out Call of Duty: Black Ops III's new DLC, Awakening, which launched earlier this month for PlayStation 4.

While multiplayer is free for PS4 owners this coming weekend, there's still no way to access the free games or special discounts if you're not a PS Plus member. Still, it is a good move for Sony for making the multiplayer free for PS4 owners, at least this coming weekend.  It will encourage the non-PS Plus subscribers to get a subscription on PS Plus.

Will you be taking advantage of this weekend's free multiplayer access?

I'm not sure you understood what they were saying here :/ This is for non PS+ members to enjoy, most likely a marketing ploy to attract more plus members.

Well, I'm not really into MP mode, as I've only done ME3 & KZ3, but I might be willing to give it a try for The Division's beta tomorrow.

But I DO know that I WILL BE definitely be trying out it's SP mode for sure.

OK, it's now "get back to SC Black Flag" time for me, CYA!

Off topic for a moment....Speaking of "FREE", here's a little something "FREE" for all you PC gamers.......

Sega giving away "FREE" Streets of Rage 2, Binary Domain, and Condemned, on Steam

Grab 'em while you still can

Sega has made three of its games available for free today as part of its ongoing Make War Not Love event. Steam copies of Streets of Rage 2, Binary Domain and Condemned are now up for grabs for a limited amount of time.

In order to acquire the three games, you'll have to enter your email address on the Make War Not Love website. Sega will send along Steam keys for the prize bundle within 24 hours.

Make War Not Love continues on until Feb. 20. The event serves as a celebration of three of Sega's war-based games: Total War Attila, Company of Heroes 2 and Dawn of War.
Players of each of those games can help to unlock more free content, which anyone is able to download.
