Ubisoft Explains Why Far Cry Primal Is A Very Special Game

It's not exactly the Far Cry you've known but it might just be the most invigorating, challenging, unique entry yet.

As we described in our Far Cry Primal preview, the game is set in 10,000 B.C. when humans were just getting going. Survival is always paramount and all you've got is your brains and brawn and a very basic set of raw materials.

Intrigued? The PlayStation Blog spoke to Ubisoft Creative Director Jean-Christophe Guyot to learn more and some of his answers will likely get you excited for the new Far Cry installments. Here's Guyot's response to the all-important query, "What separates Primal from the rest of the series besides its unique setting?"

"Dropping players at the bottom of the food chain with only rudimentary tools to start their journey enabled us to explore a very different angle for the Far Cry experience. Nature is savage and dangerous, the night is scary, and hunting animals plays a large role in surviving the Stone Age, not to mention the defense of your territory against other tribes.

The player’s toolset is completely fresh with an emphasis on crafting and includes the ability to tame wild animals and use them for combat and hunting."

Far Cry Primal launches this week on February 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

I'm beyond stoked for this game.
I want to become the Beastmaster & send all of the wildlife out to do my bidding.

And come on guys(& gals),
Besides the old gen game, Toruk, just how many caveman era games are out there???? HMMMM, I thought so.

And besides that, at least one of the most capable developers has been willing to feed on the guts of those prehistoric times!!!!!

Anyone else think of Ark: Survival while reading this? It sounds pretty cool though.
