Uncharted 4 Trailer Is The "Best Naughty Dog Has Ever Done"

Every time we see something new from Naughty Dog, we come away seriously impressed.

Remember when we first caught a glimpse of The Last Of Us? Or pretty much every time a fresh Uncharted was revealed for the first time? These guys just never fail to amaze.

And now, we get a brand new Story Trailer for the upcoming Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, which makes us wish the game's launch - April 26 - was like, now. As posted over at the PlayStation Blog, Director Neil Druckmann says this is the "best trailer in Naughty Dog's history" and you know, we can see why. Packed with emotional character tidbits and intense action sequences, this one sums up the adventure in just about every possible way.

Focusing on the relationship between protagonist Nathan Drake and his brother, Sam, the preview shows off the struggle between Drake's desire for treasure and his love for Elena. We even get a peek at a couple new characters. Said Druckmann and producer Bruce Straley:

"As you can see, there's quite a bit at stake for Nathan Drake's closing chapter. The team is working extremely hard to deliver our most ambitious game to date. We can't tell you how excited we all are for you to play the final game."

Naughty Dog concluded by saying they'll show off "plenty more" before the game is finally here. Man, I don't think I can handle more; just gimme the final product! Recently, the team also said we'll be "blown away" by the game's design (no surprise there), and you might have to really consider this awesome Uncharted 4-themed PS4...

Go back to his regular life or live the life on the edge causing chaos around the world? It will be an emotional roller coaster. I have a feeling it'll be the best part of the story yet.

I will dive in a couple of months after being consumed by Dark Souls 3.

Naughty Dog is amazing. They put together great games. Games that are complete. And games that deliver in all aspects - character development, level design, art direction, writing.

Uncharted 2 and The Last of Us will go down as 2 of my favorite games from any generation.

I'm sure this game is going to be phenomenal. I don't want to watch any more - I just want to play this game now!!

We'll see. I have a feeling this isn't going to feel like it compared to the Last of Us simply because the last of us was brand new territory and this is the 5th game into a franchise.

I'd hesitate to compare the two at all.

Why? Same company, same team.

I can see World's point. Yeah same team but different type of game entirely. TLOU was after a disease pandemic Unchartered is about treasure hunting and exploring. Same team 2 totally different games that both just happen to look really great.

Yea but it's like comparing two movies by the same director. For example, Neil Blomkamp's movies are all different. But none of the ones that came after District 9 felt as fresh and exciting.

Not discounting what you guys are saying. I can see the merit in judging them separately but I don't think it's unfair to compare them given its the same team of people making the game.

It does look great by the way.

My point was really just that they are two very different kinds of "good". To say an Uncharted is or isn't as good as a Last of Us doesn't really track.

That was a GREAT TRAILER indeed!!! You can feel the Last of Us tone in this and I love it. Unlike some or many, I loved when that team came on board to rewrite the story. I feel this game will carry more weight than any previous UC. It already looks better than UC3 and on par maybe with UC2. I forget my UC1 experience, but I do remember loving it.

I'll watch it tomorrow but I hope the game is good, not a trailer.

Nice! This is how Uncharted is supposed to be. Epic. U3 was great and all but it lacked the "epicness" of U2.

Nice trailer.

Hmmmm, was looking at the bike more than anything else LOL & if I'm correct, looks to be modeled after a late 1960's BSA.

This is the updated trailer, as the original used some artwork from Assassin's Creed IV.

I still don't see what's so good about this franchise. Not one of them has impressed me in any way, shape, or form.

Well if you don't like an awesome story, great character development, jaw dropping graphics or tight gameplay, I can see why this wouldn't be for you.

@Geobaldi It's just a franchise you don't like that happens to be popular and universally acclaimed. Pretty sure you enjoy another franchise with the same attributes that others hate. It's the way of life. Too bad you don't enjoy Uncharted though...fun franchise.

So... I still haven't played any uncharted games. Not for lack of interest, it's just never happened. I'm thinking 2016 might be my uncharted year. Any tips on where I should start? Does the first one still hold up, or should I just YouTube it's story and start at 2?

First one doesn't hold up, not really. But every entry after that does and you owe it to yourself to play 'em all.

Get the collection. As soon as you start Uncharted 2 I think you'll understand why Ben says the first doesn't hold up well, but it is just fine. It's my favorite in the series to play.

Just had a boner here. This trailer got me shivers and only few did manage that in my 25y of gaming experience. It will be epic, I know it.
