Rumor: PlayStation 4 Launches In Europe On November 13

Chances are, Sony will reveal the official launch date for the PlayStation 4 at Gamescom later next month.

But in the meantime, the rumors and supposed leaks continue to flow. For instance, check out this PS4 poster: It was spotted in MediaMarkt, "one of the biggest electronica shops in the Netherlands and Germany."

As you can see, the date of release on that poster is November 13, 2013. This particular store was in Amsterdam, according to the poster, although it has also been seen in Austria as well. November 13 sounds logical, as it gives consumers more than five weeks to nab it for a Christmas gift, and is smack dab in the midst of the holiday rush. Other European retailers have hinted at a mid-November launch as well, and a few games (like Knack) coincide with a November 13 release.

Of course, nothing is concrete until Sony speaks up. But this is pretty compelling, no? November can't get here soon enough!

@XzerO: Either or :) if it released early November I would be happy as it would be a b-day gift instead of me having to purchase ;)

It will be interesting to see which console releases first now. That's somewhat early in the month and MS probably still has manufacturing difficulties to overcome.

Actually some people have theorised that these 'leaks' are intentional from Sony, and that it is a play for Microsoft to hurry and announce their release date, so then Sony can just outright beat it.

Hahaha. That would be so awesome if it was true.

Also, the manufacturing issues that Microsoft were having with the AMD CPU are still ongoing. Some people have cited responses from MS saying that there is no issue at all haha, but that's not true.

This is probably true. Media Markt doesn't play around. Also, they have leaked accurate release dates in the past.

Plus, November 13 is a Wednesday, which is the week day that games launch in Europe.
Can't wait! :)

If that date is true, would it launch any earlier in the US?

There's a rumor that 10/29 is the US release date.

An October date would be awesome, would definitely have the head-start on MS who committed to a November launch date.

I still think that It'll be November 26th. I also think that Xbox one will be second half of November too, if only to cash in on the CoD die hards that won't be able to wait two-three weeks for the xbox one version and end up buying both!

I doubt it.

There was a clear message that Europe would be part of the worldwide launch. I think we will see the same date for all territories it is releasing for.

Which means Australia will be one of the first countries to release it, due to time differences XD I promise to tell you guys ALLLLLLL about it :D

i cant see AU getting it till probably JP, and they look like there last on the list ironically.
plus, has that EVER happened?
have we EVER received a electronic device before the US?

As long as the PS4 (GT6 too) avoid 11.29.13, I will be fine. It's my wedding anniversary and a MAJOR conflict of interest.

Namely, my well being. LOL

Didn't the PS3 launch in the US in November (2006 of course). So we could see it in November or even better earlier.

November 13 could be correct, who knows really.

Sony has given themselves a lot of wiggle room by only stating Holiday 2013. They could release it in October if possible.

thats too late, its better than the november 21st release date im expecting, but still too late.
both manufactures will want to have the systems ready for the 3 biggest launches of the year, BF4, AC4, and CODG.
releasing on the 13th puts them weeks behind those releases, there going to loose allot of sales because theres no way people are waiting a extra few weeks for those games, and few will repurchase.
they really need to get them out within the first week of november, if not last week of october.

i cant see that happening though, all of the generations biggest games, watch dogs for instance the first game we ever saw showing what next gen will be like is releasing november 21st.
EB even updated the ACIV page listing the release date for next gen versions as the 21st.
then they removed it replacing with a TBC, but the artwork for the collectors edition still said november 21, as did emails sent out to EB world members.
oops!
NFS a game that always releases late october early november is now releasing november 21st.
why?
the game needed more development time?
or there holding it back so they can have the next gen versions release same time as current ones?
ill bet the latter.
in fact everythings pointing towards a 21st release date which is really going to hurt the systems!
