Star Ocean 5 PS3 vs PS4 Difference Explained, 60 FPS Confirmed On PS4

Square Enix has shared the latest details on Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness during a recent live stream, where they showcased the differences between the PS4 and PS3 versions.  According to Square Enix, the biggest difference will be in terms of the resolution and frame rate.  You can read the full outline below.

Game Contents – The same across both platforms.

Cross-Save – Not supported.

Feature Differences – Share features and PS Vita Remote Play supported on PlayStation 4. Not supported on PlayStation 3.

Frame Rate – 60fps (some parts vary) on PlayStation 4. 30 fps (some parts vary) on PlayStation 3.

Resolution – 1080p on PlayStation 4. 720p on PlayStation 3.

Graphics – PS4: finer physics processing, characters, backgrounds, effects, and such, and objects and monsters at a distance are displayed on-screen. PS3: some expressions are reduced and simplified, and objects and monsters at a distance are not displayed on-screen.

It's pretty obvious that the PS4 version will be the better version because the PS4 has more raw power than the PS3. Also, Star Ocean 5 will be released only on PS4 in the US so we really don't have a choice on which platform to play the game, unless if you're going to import the PS3 version of Star Ocean 5 in Japan. Even if it releases in the PS3 in US, I'll still choose the PS4 version simply because I want to have the best version of the game.

Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness is due out for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Japan on March 31, and for PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe in 2016.  You can watch the final trailer of the game below.

Yeah I stopped playing Tales of Zesteria on PS3 cuz I have a PS4 now and it feels icky, nobody mentioned there was a PS4 version coming after I pre-ordered it. I was already too far to transition to PS4 so it's gonna hafta die I think.

I get releasing Star Ocean 5 on PS3 to get enough sales but it's basically half the quality so it should cost less on PS3.

was it good though? I've seriously been going back and forth on deciding whether or not to buy ToZ xD It's been a month, and I still can't decide (hard to decide on a limited budget, lol).

Tales of Zestiria is good, although I prefer the story on Xillia more. I'm supposed to buy the PS3 version of TOZ (because I want my PS3 to get some playing time) but only the PS4 version is available on its first day release on our stores so I just settled on the PS4 version.

I'm playing Zestiria right now. Really enjoying it so far.

Yeah Zestiria is really good, my only quibble is the story has been simplified and feels like it's at home with a much younger audience than Xillia 1.

I wouldn't mind the younger audience bit if it wasn't for the rest of the simplification. They have some potentially very deep story elements added in, from political upheaval to a more intense relationship between Seraphs and Humans. It's all there, but in thin layers.

Fortunately, the gameplay itself is complex enough to keep me thoroughly engaged, and the story still gets a passing grade. Just not as awesome as it could be.

Jiggling boobs and butts must be hard to keep a 60?
