'Metal Gear Solid' Fan Remake project "Shadow Moses" Cancelled
Wow, I didn't know that this project exists until now.
A few months back, an incredibly impressive trailer for a fan-made remake of the original Metal Gear Solid hit the Web, and it was named 'Shadow Moses'. Shadow Moses is a fan project to remake Metal Gear Solid using the Unreal Engine 4. Featuring all-new visuals and gameplay, it was set to show what the original game may have looked like had it released in current consoles.
The plan looked great, until it was cancelled recently.
According to the Shadow Moses Team, the Shadow Moses Project (which brought together Metal Gear Solid fans interested in remaking Metal Gear Solid with modern visuals) is no more.
In posting on the project's Facebook page, the team wrote the following:
We have an important announcement to make today:
We have to cancel the Shadow Moses Project for reasons beyond our control.
We would like to thank everyone for the tremendous support we have received.
Shadow Moses team.
The team doesn't go into any further details as to "why" the plug on the project is being pulled, but it seems fairly easy to assume that it may have something to do with Metal Gear rights owner Konami not wanting fans to use its intellectual property.
Metal Gear Solid, or simply MGS1, is one of the most critically acclaimed games during the PS1 era, and one of the best games of all time. If a remake of MGS1 would be developed for PS4, it will most surely be epic. But it certainly needs the permission of Konami if a different team, like the Shadow Moses Team, wants to develop a remake for it. I feel sad that the project was cancelled. Konami might have some other plans in the future if they're going to do a remake of MGS1 or probably they'll just make Metal Gear Solid VI. Any thoughts guys? Are you disappointed that the project Shadow Moses was cancelled?
