Sniper Elite 4 Launches This Year on PS4 and Xbox One, Will Run At 1080p
The Allied liberation of Europe depends upon you. Again.
Sniper Elite series developer Rebellion has today announced Sniper Elite 4. The new game is a direct sequel to Sniper Elite 3, continuing the story of marksman Karl Fairburne as he travels to Italy this time, fighting alongside the Italian Resistance to rid the country of Fascism. He’s also on a mission to defeat a “new threat” that could halt Allied advancements in Europe.
Sniper Elite 4 runs in native 1080p on PS4 and Xbox One, Rebellion confirmed. The studio also points out that this is the first entry in the series designed "without the constraints" of last-generation hardware. This should allow Rebellion to create a "definitive World War II shooter," the developer said. Sniper Elite 4 will feature a single-player campaign as well as co-operative and competitive multiplayer modes. No specific date was given for Sniper Elite 4's release.
Sniper Elite's last launch was 2014's Sniper Elite 3, the series' debut on the current console generation. It was the first Sniper Elite game that I've played in the series and I would say that I've enjoyed that game. I liked the x-ray kill cam feature on that game especially when you snipe the heads of your enemies. I just hope that they improve the graphics of the new game as Sniper Elite 3's graphics feels a little outdated. The AI and the controls could use a little improvement too.
Sniper Elite 4 is out later this year on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. You could view the teaser trailer below.
