PS3 Version of Star Ocean 5 Delayed in Japan
It seems that delayed games are becoming a trend these days, and Star Ocean 5 is the latest game to be added to the delayed department, at least for the PS3 version.
Square Enix has announced a delay for the PlayStation 3 version of Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness in Japan. From March 31st, the PS3 version of Star Ocean 5 will now have a released date of April 28th. The PS3 version had an initial release date of March 31 alongside its PlayStation 4 version, but the company announced that they’re delaying it to April 28 in order to further improve on its quality and optimize it for the hardware.
On the other hand, the PS4 version of Star Ocean 5 is still on track for a March 31st release date in Japan. Last week I've posted an article with regard to the comparisons between the PS4 version and the PS3 version of Star Ocean 5, and obviously the game looks and runs a lot better on PS4. Perhaps Square-Enix is trying improve the PS3 version to close the gap a little on its counterpart PS4 version.
It's a little odd that the PS3 version of Star Ocean was the one that got delayed, knowing that the PS3 version was the lead platform when Square-Enix first announced the game and the PS4 version was just a port. Anyway, this doesn't affect us since the PS3 version of Star Ocean 5 will be released only in Japan. I just hope that Square-Enix will announce the "final" release date of the PS4 version in the US and hopefully, it won't get delayed.
Meanwhile, you can view the first English trailer of Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness below. Enjoy!
