Hitman Will Eventually Get A Physical Release...In 2017
If you value your physical collection and you're willing to wait, you can get Agent 47's latest adventure on disc.
But yes, you will have to wait a while. As the new Hitman experience rolls out in digital episodic form throughout 2016, you won't see the physical launch until next year.
As Eurogamer reports, Square Enix will produce a physical version of the new stealth adventure in January 2017. When it arrives in that form, it will feature all story chapters, so it will be the complete experience. That's why it's called the "Full Experience" Edition.
Additionally, developer IO Interactive revealed details of the upcoming chapter set to release in April. We know it's set in Sapienza, a coastal town where players will explore a church, mansion and catacombs. The target in this mission is bioweapons scientist Silvia Caruso; you not only have to eliminate him, but you also have to destroy the deadly virus he's making in his lab. Then there's the Marrakesh mission, which has players tracking down a Swedish banker convicted of fraud. He has locked himself in the consulate and you need to break in and take him out.
If you'd rather not wait, you can snag Hitman digitally, and here are your options:
- Intro Pack (prologue and Paris) - $15
- Upcoming locations -- $10 each
- Upgrade Pack (if you bought one and want the rest) -- $50
- Full Experience -- $60
The recently unveiled "Season Premiere" trailer is wicked slick, and don't forget that the developers intend to support this adventure for 3-4 years. You should definitely get some serious bang for your buck if you're in it for the long haul.
