The Division Earns Ubisoft A New Five-Day Revenue Record

Remember when Ubisoft said Tom Clancy's The Division could end up setting sales records?

And remember how it became the publisher's fastest-selling game ever?

If so, you won't be surprised to learn that the massively popular third-person tactical shooter generated a whopping $330 million worldwide in just five days at market, which is indeed a new record for Ubisoft. The info comes courtesy of a new press release, where they remind us that players have already spent over 100 million hours in the post-apocalyptic virtual Manhattan, which is a lot. As a frame of reference, Activision's Destiny managed to gross $325 million in its first five days, so The Division ekes out a narrow victory.

Said Ubisoft online services vice president Stephanie Perotti:

"On top of record-breaking sales, player engagement is the highest ever for any Ubisoft title, demonstrating, among other things, that our investments in our online infrastructure and services are paying off. We are delivering an online experience that's on par with the best in the industry, and that matches the quality and connectivity demanded by The Division and its players."

well duhhhhhhhh ubisoft. havent you realized by now a lot of people are starting to grow weary of AC? all you did was rinse and repeat the game but just put the story in different eras in history. oh wait, sounds like cod. and every other game that carbon copied itself from its previous entry. video i right?

Being a big fan of AC, and now a huge fan of the Division, I'm not sure I'd totally agree with your statement.

Yes, they are both 3rd person games and there are missions/sub-missions around the map. I think that's about it for similarities.
If anything, The Division reminds me of Gears of War, but without the 'roid looking, macho talking marines.

Anyways, I'm loving the heck out of the Division thus far!

this game was done well, having fun with friends and strangers alike.
don't know if like AC if they will bring out an annual game launch of just bigger better DLC.
i want to see the map and a bigger player count other than the dark zone playing VS mpc/ computer ai with being in a group of just your 3 other friends.
if it is that the division can come out with a yearly game with better features like how AC did with out the feeling like they are milking the game then am in .
