GTAV Online Patch: Lotsa New Content, Faster Load Times
Faster is better. Usually.
This week's update for the online component in Grand Theft Auto V has arrived and it's well worth downloading for a number of reasons.
As detailed at Rockstar's website, this new update introduces new cars, weapons and even a freakin' Sumo wrestling mode, but we also get some nuts-and-bolts upgrades as well. The March 15 patch, available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (Rockstar has sorta stopped doing new GTAV stuff for the old PS3/360 versions), improves overall game stability and network performance.
This results in faster load times when joining sessions, which is a definite bonus because gamers have been complaining about GTAO's lengthy load times since the title launched. You can check out the full patch notes through the link above; as you'll see, this isn't one of your standard cosmetic patches. This fundamentally alters the experience for the better, and we're all for that.
The developer continues its support of GTAV; they released a free Valentine's Day add-on in February, for instance, and as of last May, the blockbuster hit became the 4th-best selling video game of all time, registering 52 million sold worldwide.
