The Playroom Will Accompany The PS4

Okay, so it isn't exactly a traditional game, but it's still a cool bonus.

Sony has revealed that their new PlayStation 4 console will come packaged with a pre-loaded copy of the augmented-reality title, The Playroom.

It was showed off during Sony's E3 press conference and combines the Dual Shock 4 controller with the PS4 camera. The application is also compatible with smartphones, tablets and the PlayStation Vita. Basically, you can control these friendly little robots that appear to be congregating in your living room. We've seen examples of this technology before; some may recall the relatively intriguing EyePet. This may take things to a whole new level, though.

You won't get the camera when you buy the PS4, but you will get The Playroom. ...is that a clever way of enticing consumers to spring for the camera, which retails separately for $60? We think it might be.

Kind of an interesting tactic. I did get the PSEye for PS3 but the damn thing needs to be used on the surface of the sun for it to work, hopefully folks don't have that problem with the new one.

Thats true. I coukdnt get eye pet to work because it was always too dark. Anything involving the move controller worked just fine though.

I even struggled using it with the Move controller. It just didn't work at times.

/me puts up yet another post-it note reminding himself not to fall for the Move/cam bait again.

Odd...I really don't have a problem, and the room isn't THAT bright when it's being used. In fact, I've used it with just a few artificial lights at night, even with the room a little shadowy.
