Uncharted 4's Latest "Making Of" Vid Is All About New Tech
Earlier this month, Sony kicked off a five-part "making of" series that brings you behind the scenes of one of the most anticipated games of the generation.
That one was called "The Evolution of a Franchise" and the second installment - check it out below - is called "Pushing Technical Boundaries."
Here, developer Naughty Dog talks about harnessing the power of the PlayStation 4 to create a much larger, denser and more detailed adventure. In fact, they tell us A Thief's End has about 10 times the amount of "explorable" space as there was in the previous entry, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. That's not really too much of a surprise, though, as we know the team really tried opening up the levels in Drake's final epic quest.
Additionally, this one has in-game cut-scenes as opposed to standard cut-scenes that separate gameplay from the non-interactive sequences. Which is precisely what they probably had to do, as I noted in a recent editorial. If the levels really are big enough and the player isn't forced to sit still for - God forbid - two or three minutes, then it should be received rather well by critics and fans alike.
Oh, and don't forget that Uncharted 4 has gone gold, so there will be no more delays. May 10 is the day!
