Uncharted 4's Latest "Making Of" Vid Is All About New Tech

Earlier this month, Sony kicked off a five-part "making of" series that brings you behind the scenes of one of the most anticipated games of the generation.

That one was called "The Evolution of a Franchise" and the second installment - check it out below - is called "Pushing Technical Boundaries."

Here, developer Naughty Dog talks about harnessing the power of the PlayStation 4 to create a much larger, denser and more detailed adventure. In fact, they tell us A Thief's End has about 10 times the amount of "explorable" space as there was in the previous entry, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. That's not really too much of a surprise, though, as we know the team really tried opening up the levels in Drake's final epic quest.

Additionally, this one has in-game cut-scenes as opposed to standard cut-scenes that separate gameplay from the non-interactive sequences. Which is precisely what they probably had to do, as I noted in a recent editorial. If the levels really are big enough and the player isn't forced to sit still for - God forbid - two or three minutes, then it should be received rather well by critics and fans alike.

Oh, and don't forget that Uncharted 4 has gone gold, so there will be no more delays. May 10 is the day!

Mannn Anthony Newman always looks so young. Won't be surprised if he's late 20's.

Did a terrific job climbing the ranks from Mark of Kri at Bottlerocket (if he actually worked on it).

Lead game designer at ND now well done!

The youthful-man-looker has cracked the jackpot. Feeling like a proud friend hahah.

Excellent insight from Naughty Dog.

Why does my hype for this game go down every time they release more vids?

Because it smells of trying too hard to hype something, and you know as well as I do why companies try very hard to hype things up before release. A solid product needs less (if any) real hype...just sayin'...

No, it really doesnt smell of trying to hard. This game is getting far less *hype* than Uncharted 3 (which I believe is what hurt that game) and still less than TLOU which I had to force myself off the Internet to avoid to much of it.

These videos are not about showing the game off but rather what went into it. They can be proud of it.

However, I do believe to much exposure does decrease hype. And maybe these videos regardless of intent are doing to you.

I'm excited and satisfied knowing it's the last game in the series by ND.
After this game I'll probably feel like the whole Uncharted scene has been played out enough.

I have to say I'm itching more for a new TLoU.

Edit: I don't think U4 has been over exposed. Maybe it seems that way because Sony hasn't been showing many new exclusive AAA games as of late to get excited for. And the one's that we know about seem so far away. It seems their focus is all on VR.

I hope Naughty Dog puts all these making of vids on the disc, that would be awesome as a "special features" section, unlockable or not...
