The Division April Update: First Incursion, New Gear, Trading
Ubisoft promised plenty of support for Tom Clancy's The Division and they're ready to deliver.
The team at Massive Entertainment has detailed the big update coming our way this month and yes, it's free. It also includes the very first Incursion.
It's called Falcon Lost and it's an end-game mission that might remind you of Raids (ala Destiny). High-level characters will be required for this and it will be still be a stiff challenge: No checkpoints, peeps! If your team bites the dust, it's over. Ubisoft says you'll need gear that's around Lv. 31 if you want any hope of conquering this Incursion, and there's even a higher difficulty mode, but that's only recommended for those who have collected the new gear sets, also featured in this update.
By equipping matching gear sets, you can unlock specific talents. Most of the sets can be found in Falcon Lost but you can grab them in other ways. There are four sets in all: Sentry's Call (precision-focused), Striker's Battle Gear (assault-focused), Technician's Authority (support-focused), and Path of the Nomad (gotta get it in the Dark Zone).
Furthermore, trading will make its debut with this update. Instead of going through the menus, you can trade items by just dropping them on the ground, thereby allowing other players in your group to pick them up. Just remember that the players need to have been with you when you got the item. Oh, and there's a timer (like in Diablo III), so you have two hours to transfer an item after it first drops.
Other new features are coming as well, and this includes a spectator camera and assignments (weekly and daily missions), along with Supply Drops. All of this will be ready to go on April 12 and if you want a peek at some Falcon Lost gameplay, check out this IGN vid:
