Killzone: Shadow Fall Lands Top Quality Acting Talent

Actors bring virtual characters to life. The better the actor, the more believable that fictional character will be.

The good news is that developer Guerrilla Games has secured some top talent for their anticipated upcoming sequel, Killzone: Shadow Fall. As revealed over at the PlayStation Blog, David Harewood (Sinclair) and Jamie Gray Hyder (Echo) will be lending their significant talents to the production, and that's good news.

Harewood is a noted British actor known for his role as David Estes in the critically acclaimed "Homeland." Hyder had a breakout role when she played the werewolf Danielle in the award-winning TV series, "True Blood." Both performers lend their voices and likenesses to Shadow Fall, which means motion-capture is part of the deal. We've heard many accomplished actors say this is lots of fun, and offers them the chance to act on multiple levels. Bring on the new Killzone!

I really hope they let us play as Shadow Marshals again in this game.

Ok. I've only watched the trailers so far, I didn't know that. I thought Shadow Marshals were more like assassins with genetically enhanced powers, though.

Ummm I'm not sure what they are either I don't follow the KZ lore but it sounded like they were the special ops type force of the ISA doing secret missions to keep the Vectans and Space Nazis from starting a war.

I like Homeland, that dude did a good job. Wouldn't touch True Blood with a ten foot pole covered in Lysol. Video games are the best thing to happen to actors in a long time.

It's kind of unfair at least for me to see how it's praised to bring "real actors" to videogames to make them "better". Kind of makes it sound like the people who do this for a living aren't good enough... It's like giving Nolan North, or Kevin Conroy a kick in the nether regions honorwise for lack of a better word. Like I said, just my opinion.

I agree, but I bet the actors who do this for a living are too gracious to be bothered by it.

really gotta question is it worth the added expense?
i just cant see the added cost of hiring a well known famous actress/ actor over a voice actor to be justified, especially in a game like KZ.
for QDs games, games that heavily rely on facial expressions and behavioral mannerisms ok, but on a franchise where emotion and story telling has been about as emphasized and focused as doing my dishes?
ok maybe there trying to change that, but is the extra added cost worth the net result?
im not so sure.
