Darkest Dungeon PS4, Vita Incarnations Suffer Slight Delay
PC and Mac players get new Town Events, while PlayStation 4 and Vita owners have to wait just a bit longer.
In a new update at developer Red Hook Games' website, we learn more about the future of Darkest Dungeon.
Firstly, though the game was originally slated to hit Sony platforms in late spring or early summer, these versions have been slightly delayed until late July or early August. The team wants to make sure they get it just right:
"Adjusting controls, in particular, is not a quick process. We have a level of quality that we want to ensure in all of our releases and we would rather take some extra time to make it right, rather than rush it out the door. The awesome and talented Sickhead Games has been helping us with the porting."
Furthermore, Red Hook wanted to make sure that these new Town Events will be included in the PS4 and Vita versions. The new Events will "add variety to the overall campaign and also provide additional personality." Plus, special days will trigger certain events, like All Saints Day, which results in a town-wide celebration where all treatments are free for a week after finishing the Ruins Gather Holy Relics quest.
When Darkest Dungeon was first announced, we knew it had promise. We just gotta be patient and see if it fulfills that promise on our Sony platforms.
