New Trailer, Special Editions For Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

It's certainly one of my most anticipated games of 2016. How's about you?

To amp up the excitement factor, Square Enix has released a new trailer for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, along with special edition info.

The trailer, called simply "101," shows protagonist Adam Jensen as he "makes sure that the events of the past won't repeat themselves." In the new story, the tension between regular ol' natural humans and augmented humans has reached a breaking point, and Jensen must operate in a world where a lot of people hate him simply because he's augmented.

And as the publisher said in a press release:

"Armed with a new arsenal of state-of-the-art weapons and augmentations, he must choose the right approach, along with who to trust, in order to unravel a vast worldwide conspiracy," the publisher says in a press release.

You'll also discover both old and new acquaintances, all of which have their own agendas. Whether going rogue or by the book, choices never come without consequences. The truth is still yours to reveal."

Then come the special boxed and digital editions of the game; there's the Day One edition of the physical copy, which offers an extra in-game mission, and Covert agent packs. There's also a Digital OST Sampler and an awesome Collector's Edition; for the full details, click here.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is slated to release on August 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

The gameplay looks better than ever, so it's still pre-order worthy for me, but I admit I'm a little worried about the story. Something I love about the series is the ambiguity in the different factions, how it's never clear who is on the right side and who isn't. It's usually left to the player, and this trailer makes it seem awfully one-dimensional, us versus them, and I hope it's deeper than that in the full game.
