PS4 Exclusive Gran Turismo Sport Ready For Full Reveal Next Week

It's been a while since we last heard of Gran Turismo Sport, and fans of the legendary racing series are becoming weary waiting for news on the upcoming racing game. Well, it looks like their long wait has come to an end.

Polyphony Digital will debut new footage from Gran Turismo Sport next week, according to the PlayStation Blog. A livestream event will kick off with the premiere of a new trailer at 10:45 a.m. PT on May 19.

Fans can watch live on Gran Turismo or PlayStation's YouTube channels, and are encouraged to stick around after the trailer for more Gran Turismo events. Starting at 11 a.m., the developer will host a pair of Gran Turismo Championship pre-season races. These races are part of the Nations Cup and Manufacturer Cup, which will run over the course of the year. They are held in partnership with the International Automobile Federation, FiA.

The stream will be hosted by a mix of GT and motoring experts. The hosts will be providing with English commentary on the following activities:

6.45pm BST – 7.00pm BST: Run down of the day’s events, news and a showcase of the brand new GT SPORT trailer

7.00pm BST – 8.30pm BST: Nations Cup Pre-Season Test and the Manufacturer Fan Cup Pre-Season Test of the FIA Gran Turismo Championships:
                    -  The Manufacturer Fan Cup Pre-Season Test
                    -  The Nations Cup Pre-Season Test

8.30pm BST – 9.00pm BST: Trophy ceremonies [1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each cup]

You can also watch the stream via either the PlayStation Europe YouTube channel or the Gran Turismo YouTube channel on the 19th May, from 6.45pm BST:

 Gran Turismo Official: https://www.youtube.com/GranTurismoOfficial

Also promised during the stream is more information about the upcoming racing game. Polyphony Digital has first revealed Gran Turismo Sport during Paris Games Week back in October 2015. Amazon has also revealed that the retail release of Gran Turismo Sport will include PS VR compatibility. A beta for Gran Turismo Sport is also planned for sometime this year.

It is a high probability that Sony will finally reveal the release date of GT Sport next week. If they do reveal the release date, hopefully it will be released this year during the holiday season. The PS4 could certainly use a great exclusive game like GT Sport on the holiday season. GT Sport can also help boost the sales of PS VR, which is also coming during the holiday season, since GT Sport is compatible with PS VR. What do you think guys? Will you be watching the full reveal of GT Sport next week?

I got no skills but I'd like to play it just to feel it all in virtual reality!

I can't drive racing sims. Straight lines and I'm good. Turning a corner, I'm terrible.

( Maybe that's my problem with Uncharted 4, bleedin' corners lol )

@mk, everyone tells me hit the apex, it's become a bit of a mantra but I still suck. I really enjoyed Driveclub but just struggled through no fault but my own. It's one of them things that just has to click.

You have to use the brake in a straight line and know in your heart that you're doing 3x the speed that you've ever done.

Now you're golden.

Yeah tire load is very important to keep in mind. You can't turn and brake at the same time. If you're using a controller then that's probably a big reason it's so hard. I was having a terrible time trying to play Driveclub with one.

Aaargh! I wish the g27 worked with PS4. I really want to play this in VR with my wheel and chair setup.

How do you keep your pedals in place?

Fine on carpet otherwise using a rig like a surprising minority (perhaps majority?) of us.

They're on a metal plate with some good double sided mounting tape and an old guitar hero strap running in between the gas and brake pedal for good measure. Never slipped once going on 7 years now.
