Uncharted 4's Sales Surpass 2.7 Million Copies In Its First Week

This is rather expected, right? I would be REALLY REALLY SHOCKED if Uncharted 4 didn't sell at least a million copies in its first week.

Well, it seems that the game has sold more than that. In its first week on sale, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End sales have surpassed 2.7 million units, according to Sony. The figure represents copies of the game sold to customers, as opposed to shipped to retailers, and includes both physical and digital sales as of May 16.

The figure was revealed on the PlayStation Blog, where Sony Computer Entertainment America marketing manager Asad Qizlbash said the game is "the fastest-selling PS4 first party title to-date" in North America.

"Thank you to the team at Naughty Dog for delivering Uncharted 4, a stunning experience that sets a new bar for interactive entertainment," said Shawn Layden, chairman of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios.

"We are thrilled so many gamers have taken this journey with Nathan Drake and look forward to continuing to deliver epic gaming experiences available only on PlayStation."

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End was released on May 10, and not only it managed to garner a lot of sales, but also brought in excellent reviews from critics. Those reviews were so positive that when the only negative review got posted on Metacritic, fans moved to have that review struck from the record by starting a petition

The previous game in the series, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, reportedly shipped 3.8 million globally on day-one of its release. However, the game was released some years into the PlayStation 3's life and, therefore, had a larger audience.

Well, what more can I say? Not only Uncharted 4 has become the top software in terms of sales in the UK (for two consecutive weeks), but Uncharted 4 is now the fastest-selling first-party PlayStation 4 game ever in North America! I'd say Uncharted 4 deserves this feat, and I wish that the game will sell at around 20 million copies or more on its lifetime! Once again, a huge congratulations goes out to Naughty Dog for an incredible feat. The success of the game is a testament to the caliber of the team at Naughty Dog and their unwavering commitment to their fans.

That much is to be expected. It won't stay in top 10 sales after this month since it doesn't revolve around popular online mp.

Congrats ND, it's a great adventure! Tough time of year to sell a game too with the nice weather, hopefully things will trickle in over the summer and it will probably make some holiday lists too.

It deserves tons of sales. After Last of Us 2 I can't wait to see what Naughty Dog has up their sleeve next.

Agreed, and I'm hopping it isn't TLoU2... They always deliver something fresh every generation and I would hate to see them stuck with two sequels right of the bat.

I'd like a new IP from them as well. But they did give us two last gen and TLoU was super late in it so I guess they could keep rolling with that one.

I personally want to see TLoU stay a one and done adventure. It was so perfectly done in every conceivable way that I don't want anything to change how I view any of the characters. If they are making a second, I hope it's an entirely new cast set somewhere else in the country/world.

It's harder to build new IPs than ever, so I wouldn't blame them for goin back to the well with TLoU. If the rumors are true and/or that one poster in U4 really is a clue I'll be a little disappointed with the direction, but I'm sure It'll be great still. ND still hasn't made a bad game in 20 years and it doesn't look like they're about to start now.

I kinda think they'll be forced to make that one.
