Star Ocean 5 Shows New Gameplay, Kingdom of Treiíkur, And Anne & Emmerson Trailers

Square Enix has released a new set of Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness trailers during the third part of the Star Log series, which happened yesterday. Much like the other episodes that came before it, the third episode of Star Log included English trailers revealing new information about some of the characters, as well as key elements about the game.

You can check out the trailers below and their overview:

Kingdom of Trei’kur Trailer

Kingdom of Trei’kur

Not even the most biased of historians would endeavor to call this parched land a paradise. Most of the country is a desert, and the little soil that departs from that description has too few nutrients to sustain the raising of crops. Its lack of natural resources is the primary reason this country is currently at war with neighboring Resulia.

Anne And Emmerson Spotlight Videos:

Anne and Emerson actually knew each other prior to joining up with Fidel and traveled with one another. As former travel companions, their battle styles complement each other quite well. Whereas Anne is a speedy fighter who uses martial arts to pummel enemies up close, Emmerson is a ranged fighter who uses a bowgun to bombard enemies from a distance. Their personalities are quite complementary as well, with Anne being strict, calm and quite intelligent, while Emmerson is more up-front with people and likes to "pick up chicks."

Last, and definitely not the least, you could check out the new gameplay trailer below. From item crafting to side quests and dungeon crawling, adventure is limitless on the undeveloped planet Faykreed IV.

Square Enix has previously had two Star Logs, with the first showing off Fidel Camuze, Miki Sauvester and a story trailer, while the second showed off Fiore, Victor and a Battle trailer. Now that Square-Enix has showed off Anne and Emerson, the last member of the party who needs an English spotlight trailer is Relia. Beyond that, Square Enix will likely fill in various holes such as trailers focusing on the villains and other assorted topics.

Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness is due out for PlayStation 4 on June 28 in North America and July 1 in Europe. It is now available for PlayStation 4 in Japan and will launch for PlayStation 3 in the country on April 28. I'm excited on this game, and I'm planning to buy the Day One Edition once it comes out in our country. How about you guys?

Yeah I am pretty excited, love the fact they have the Private Action system back, so we get more moments with the characters. The news from Japan is sayign that the game may be considered short for a JRPG - 20 Hours... Which I actually don't mind. JRPG's don't have to be long and dragged out (Final Fantasy XII...) I would rather have a well paced and engaging experience than a game stuffed with filler content. For me the biggest demand I have from JRPG's is to present an adventure which is narrative driven, get that right and I don't have too much else to complain about.

I have this pre-ordered, really looking forward to finally having JRPG's hit the PS4 :)

Yeah its short but id rather have a brief Star Ocean V than none at all ya know? And we need theses JRPGs to continue to resurge.

I often find estimates on game length never suit me, anyways. I take my time with most games.

People speedrun Dark Souls 3 in like 3 hours. I'm getting near the end now, but at 40 hours-ish.

Hey just to let you guys know and to save disappointed faces:

The combat in this game is leveled down a lot compared to previous games. For example you can chain bonus the special move onto itself. In other words just mash away.

But I play Star Ocean for more than the fluid flashy combat.

Think it'll be like the Tales games where you can mash away on simpler difficulties, but you have to be smarter and more methodical on the higher ones?
