Akiba’s Beat Announced For PlayStation 4 And PlayStation Vita
Video game new magazine Famitsu's June 2 issue will reveal a new PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4 game titled Akiba's Beat on Thursday. The game will be the successor to the Akiba's Trip game series, but will be the series' first "action RPG."
While the name hints at some kind of rhythm release, it'll apparently be an action role-playing game instead. No other details are known at this moment, other than that the title is coming to the PlayStation 4 and Vita.
The game’s official website, which you can see the screenshot below, currently has a countdown ticking away the time until the full reveal.
It should be noted that this is, of course, currently confirmed for Japan only, as is the case with most brand new game reveals.
Game developer Acquire released the original Akiba's Trip game for the PlayStation Portable in 2011, and an updated version, Akiba's Trip Plus, for PSP in 2012. Acquire released the sequel, Akiba's Trip 2 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in 2013. XSEED Games released Akiba's Trip 2 in North America as Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed on PS3 and PS VIta, and later on PlayStation 4 and PC. NIS America released the game in Europe.
We'll just have to wait until Thursday before we can hear about the full details of the game. I never tried playing Akiba's Trip, so I most likely won't try Akiba's Beat. How about you guys?
