Will The PS4 Beat The Xbox One To Store Shelves This Holiday?
Okay, so we know the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be launching this holiday season. But we don't have exact dates just yet.
So, it's feasible that while one could launch at the end of October, the other might not be available until early December. Do you think Sony will beat Microsoft to stores and if not, do you think it will matter?
If they launch within a week of each other, maybe that won't matter much. However, if there's a significant gap, and the later system only enjoys a few weeks of holiday retail, that could be a big deal. The other issue that might come into play is the matter of cost and accessibility; few will be able to drop a gigantic chunk of change on both systems. But more will be able to handle it if the consoles are at least a month apart. Hence, you may see more multi-console purchases if that gap exists, and that's not a bad thing.
But if they do come out very close to one another, the war is on, right? I mean, the majority will have to pick their horse and go with it. However, I suppose the other could be added to the Christmas wishlist for a great many people...even though it's an awfully expensive present. I wonder if it'll be better or worse for Sony to launch first...or if it matters at all, provided they're both available. What do you say?
