New Patch and Updated Photo Mode for Horizon
I’m not the most social gamer in the world. I don’t play a lot of online multiplayer games and I don’t share gaming experiences very often on social media. I’m starting to but not a whole lot. I know, I must be an old fashioned gamer or something. I have been sharing more often lately though. I started sharing some of my experiences in No Man's Sky and more recently I started using the photo mode in Horizon: Zero Dawn.
There is no denying that the environments in Horizon are quite gorgeous. It’s probably one of the best looking games on the PS4 to date. And that’s without the 4K resolution on the PS4 Pro. I spent quite a few moments stopping to admire the scenery and sharing them with the masses (aka my facebook page) using the photo mode.
It’s with that mindset that I’m actually a little excited for a new update coming out next week for Horizon’s photo mode. It’s a feature that I used to ignore but I might hop on just to try this out at least. Some of the new features include new filters, showing a grid, and the ability to add greetings. The update also includes the ability to pose Aloy and change her expressions. You can even have her look at the camera.
So it looks like I might be jumping back into Horizon sometime soon to check out the new photo mode. I’m not sure if this alone is worth coming back for another playthrough but I think it’s a cool feature to add. And if you haven’t played Horizon yet, you really should. It’s probably one of the best games for playstation so far this year. It has a great story that kind of blew my mind. And it’s absolute eye candy as far as the environments go. Especially if you have a PS4 Pro. Which I really need to go out and get now…
The new photo mode is included in the 1.20 patch coming out sometime next week. Here are a few examples from the new photo mode courtesy of the Playstation Blog:
Did you use the photo mode when you played Horizon? Do you think this is a feature worth coming back to the game for? Has anyone played Horizon on a PS4 Pro?
